| My husband and I found us in a situation with our 50-year-old bathroom. It had a small hole in the floor, and when we were able to investigate it further, we found it to be a HUGE hole, which needed to be taken care of immediately. We were planning on remodeling the bathroom in about 2 years, but because of this problem, we decided to get it done at the same time as fixing the hole in the floor. I had known Jackie for the past year. We happened to be talking one day about our hole in the floor. I was making a joke about being the first “tub hill racer”, as I pictured myself taking a bath, falling through the floor, and racing down the hillside. She started to ask me questions about the bathroom. And I then realized I wanted to hire her to take a look and give me some recommendations. recommendations. recommendations. So Jackie came over, took a look, asked a lot of questions about what we wanted to do, and then started making some suggestions about things we never even thought about. For example, it had never occurred to us to consider putting in grab rails in the tub area for when we get older. She explained how to reinforce the walls now so we can eventually put those in when we will need them. She suggested alternative door ideas for the bathroom so we could then have more cabinet space in our small bathroom. Those are just two ideas she suggested, there were many more. My husband and I love to remodel together, and we have great ideas of our own. We were not quite sure about our ideas on tile size and shape in our bathroom, and how to accomplish what we were looking for. Jackie ended up changing our thoughts on what to do with tile design. And I was so glad to finally get a clear direction on that issue, especially since tile is one of the more expensive issues we faced in the design. Jackie also keeps herself up to date on the latest fixtures needed for the bathroom. After our initial consultation, she met with us again and told us where we could get the fixtures we would like to purchase for our bathroom. That cut down on quite of bit of time and energy for us, as we both work and are unable to do the research ourselves. We would highly recommend Jackie to anyone who would like a consult on a bathroom. I understand she also does kitchens, as well as other areas in the house, and specializes in barrier free designs. She is very sharp, has a great eye for detail, and can guide you into making wise decisions about rooms you would like to remodel in your home. Thank you Jackie for all your great ideas!
